| FAQ: |
- Is this a mechanical gauge?
No, this is an electronic gauge, even the versions with the sensor mounted
inside the gauge.
- How exactly does the bi-directional bargraph work?
Since there is a need to clearly distinguish between vacuum (negative
pressure) and boost (positive pressure), the gauge shows these two
states as different directions on the bargraph. For vacuum, the bargraph
starts on the right and grows to the left for increasing vacuum (decreasing
pressure), and vice-versa for boost. In operation, as the intake pressure
level increases, the bargraph gets smaller (towards the right),
representing less vacuum, until the pressure level becomes positive. At
that point, the bargraph switches over to start from the left and grow to
the right, representing increasing boost pressure. This also effectively
doubles the bargraph resolution.
- What is the numeric peak recall?
The numeric peak recall feature will flash the highest boost recorded since
the vehicle has been running, or since the last time the peak boost was
displayed. Simply tap the button on the front of the gauge and the peak boost
pressure value will be flashed on the display temporarily. There is another
mode to set the peak boost recall display flash time, from approx 1 second to
5 seconds.
- Display sweep
This boost gauge also has a bargraph sweep feature that will sweep the
bargraph from left to right and back on power-up, to test the display.
There is also a separate mode to enable or disable this feature if required.
